Poet & Illustrator

Dominique (Nik) Miller is a Dutch-American, and a Minnesota based poet & illustrator. She is the owner of ByNikcreations, a small art-business.
Dominique expresses her creativity onto paper, in words and imaging. Her minimalistic style in writing brings the reader back to the basics of life, and makes her work accessible for all to read.
Dominique writes with the inspiration drawn from experiences in and reflections on Life, Love, Cultures & Continents, and the Human-Connection with the Natural World.
In 2022 Dominique Miller published a chapbook, called
My Thoughts in a Bundle, and in 2025 she launched her first full-length collection of poetry, titled OUTSIDE(R).
“Creating Nature-Inspired Poems & Illustrations Works for Me Like a Bandage:
It Heals Wounds, and Protects Cherished Moments in Life”.

four corners to be enclosed in,
four seasons to get nourished by,
one life to be lived, and one pen
to start writing about it…
An ode to the natural world, OUTSIDE(R) is filled with poetry that is raw and minimalistic. Miller weaves imaginary words through her observations of nature, expressing life experiences and self-reflective contemplation to evoke memories and emotions.
The readers of these poems will hold up a metaphoric mirror, seeing themselves reflected in sentiments that feel familiar and timeless. The themes of six sections express the cycles of nature and the ebb and flow of the human experience.

My thoughts became written words that formed the sentences bundled in this book. Poetry in a simple and pure way to express my love for Nature. These poems encourage one to embrace the beauty of nature, find the beauty within yourself, and to share this with others.
